Anything that poses a challenge to you or which psychologically takes a toll on your mental side is stress.
Stress happens when we feel that we cannot cope with the pressures and all of a sudden these pressures arrive in many shapes and forms. Such stresses hit us hard and the mental side goes for a toss. In today’s world, which is so fast paced, stress takes a more complicated role. Nowadays, more and more of our threats are psychological that could be, job stress, personal conflicts, relationships etc. and this retort to stress, which can actually make us think less clearly. So what should we do in order to negate the stress? Here’s our take:
1 – Breathe
When in under severe stress, breathe deeply. Breathing is an ideal way to relieve stress which are fast, simple, free, and can be performed by just about anyone. They can also be done anywhere and at practically any time. So when in stress, just breathe! Inhale and Exhale
2 – Sip on a cup of Tea/Coffee
Is working on a particular project stressing you out? Is the work not getting the best out of you? Instead of gawking at your computer or laptop, get up from your seat and walk to the coffee/tea machine. Sipping on a hot coffee or tea can revive you immediately and awaken your ‘brain-dead’ cells.
3 – Talk out with closed ones
At times, when the stress-related issue is so severe, you don’t feel like sharing the particular topic with anyone or making it public as it would cause harm. Actually, that would be a negative tactic and instead, share such personal stress issues with the ones who are ‘very close’ or dear to you. Who knows, the trick might work and help you calm down a bit.
4 – Listen to music
Where words fail, music speaks – quotes Hans Christian Andersen. After a hard day’s work at the office, put on those headphones and let the joy of music charm you away. Listening to your favourite song or melody might just help you forget the boss’s wrath or those hectic meetings.
5 – Freshen up
If you had a bad day at the office, once you’re home, just to the shower. A good bath can just be the stress-reliever to kill of those ‘stressful’ germs.
At the end of the day, stress is creation of our own device. High expectations, pressures, outcomes lead us to the road towards stress. The only way stress could be ‘razed’ off is by believing in your own self. Don’t be bogged down by the weight of expectations instead fight it and definitely you will overcome the enemy called ‘stress’.
