Coronavirus cause different diseases to humans ranging from common cold, middle east respiratory syndrome and severe acute respiratory syndrome. A novel coronavirus is not previously identified in humans. Coronaviruses are zoonotic which means they are transmitted between humans and animals. Studies have shown that several coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected people. SARS-CoV gets transmitted from cats to humans while MERS-CoA from camels to humans.
Common respiratory signs include fever, shortness of breath, cough and breathing difficulties. In most cases, infections cause kidney failure, pneumonia, and severe acute respiratory syndrome and likely even deaths.
Preventive measures include covering mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing, regular hand washing, and cooking thoroughly eggs and chicken. Avoid close contact with those suffering from an infection.
