With the January Transfer window shut, a lot of top clubs spilled up some bucks to buy top notch players. As the season rolls on, we take a look at the clubs from Top 6 who were the winners and the losers.

Manchester City
Winners
Players bought in: None
Even though manager Manuel Pellegrini was in with a shout of a double swoop over FC Porto players, Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando but backed out at the last minute. May be the in-form team of the BPL might have a go in the summer. But, the squad does not look depleted and without any additions, Manchester City do look a strong team for the championship.

Chelsea
Winners
Players bought in: Nemanja Matic (21 million euros), Mohamed Salah (11 million euros), Kurt Zouma (12 million euros)
Even though they let their 2-time Chelsea Player of the Year, Juan Mata leave for rivals, Manchester United; manager Jose Mourinho wasted little time in bringing new faces to the club. The Blues are in the title race and with new additions, could prove a thorn in the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Arsenal
Losers
Players bought in: Kim Kallstrom (loan)
Since the January month began, Arsene Wenger launched a scathing attack on the winter transfer window, citing that it’s a ‘distraction’. German wonderkid Julian Draxler was heavily linked with the Gunners but the French manager had already rolled up his sleeves in the money transfers. With injury worries and strikers up short, can the Gunners wage a title bid?

Liverpool
Losers
Players bought in: None
Rivals Chelsea pipped Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool in signing Mohamed Salah from FC Basel. That left the manager in dire straits to get in new faces before the deadline day (January 31). Liverpool did make a bid of 15m pounds to sign FC Dnipro forward Yevhen Konoplyanka but any moves did not materialise. With in-form striker Luis Suarez in top form, a couple of signings could have lifted the Reds mood but unfortunately, it hasn’t.

Everton
Winners
Players bought in: Jinrich Stanek (undisclosed), Lacina Traore (loan)
With Everton sweating over the injuries to their striker, Romelu Lukaku, manager Roberto Martinez too had a dip in the transfer market to add striker Lacina Trarore from French Ligue side, Monaco FC.

Manchester United
Winners
Players bought in: Juan Mata (37.1m pounds)
With the entire season gone for a toss, it was looking all doom and gloom for manager David Moyes until he made a masterstroke of landing unsettled Spanish midfielder, Juan Mata from Chelsea. The midfielder started in his first game as a Red Devils in a 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
