#ArgentinavsBosnia: Argentina’s Attack Against Bosnian Solidity At The Brazilian Battleground
Lionel Messi and his Argentine squad takes centre stage in the World Cup group stage encounter as they face a solid Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Maracana with dreams of returning to the same venue in four weeks’ time for the Final. With that said, here’s what could be expected from both the teams as they head-to-head in an important tie.
Argentina:
Strengths – The attack is their strongest focal point going into this World Cup. Amongst the rest of the teams, Argentina boasts some of world’s best attackers and that could leave opposition sides fretting. Besides, having the likes of Lionel Messi in the team can boost the morale of other players in the squad as well.
Weakness – The defence looks a bit fragile. Martin Demichelis could be the ‘weak’ point in the Argentine back four. There is no midfield depth as Javier Mascherano remains the only defensive minded player in the midfield.
Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Strengths – The Bosnian team might not have the stars of their opposition but the likes of Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanić could revive the team’s fortunes. The defence looks solid at the back and after a great qualifying round; Bosnia and Herzegovina might be high on confidence going into this game.
Weakness – The lack of playing in bigger competitions can hurt them. Brazilian conditions could be alien to them and could take time to adapt.
With that said, Argentina look firm favourites to win this tie comprehensively!
