EXPERIENCE
What we ordered: For starters, we called for chicken satay and saundhe aloo. The former was a traditional Thai dish where strips of chicken are marinated in a special paste, then skewered or grilled on a BBQ, or broiled in an oven. The chicken was soft, succulent and juicy and tasted well with the peanut sauce, served along with it. While, we loved the satay, we didn’t quite like the saundhe aloo, which had a monotonous taste of lime and salt. Next, we called for desi chicken butter masala, tandoori roti and jeera rice. The rotis were soft and we didn’t have to haggle to break them with our fingers. Though the aroma of the chicken butter masala was strong and inviting, we were disappointed with the scarcity of chicken pieces, which got lost somewhere in the gravy.
For desserts, we ordered lemon pudding and gulab jamun. The pudding was creamy on the top and had a well baked, soft base. It had a nice tinge of yellow and a perfect sour-sweet taste balance. The gulab jamuns piping hot and our spoons just dug into them with the slightest stroke. The best part was that they weren’t overly sweet.
What we loved: Since it was evening and we sat in the alfresco area, the ambience was the highlight of our experience. We would give chicken satay and gulab jamun 4/5.
What we didn’t like: Chicken butter masala. The experience would have been better with some music.
