Salads can be a complete dish on their own and just by adding a few personal touches, you can customize them according to your preferences.
We have found four amazing salad recipes that you will get hooked on to! Let’s have a look.
Citrus Beet Salad
All you need us beetroot, lemon, some goat cheese/cheddar cheese, finely chopped onions and fresh mint leaves. Boil the beetroot in water for around 40 minutes. Now let it cool and then cut into dices. Add lemon juice, pepper, half a cup of crumbled cheese and fresh mint leaves. Toss with some olive oil and you’re citrus salad is ready! You can have it not just as a side dish but also as a light dinner option.
Chicken Salad in Sesame Oil
This one’s with a twist! Boil chicken and keep it aside. Cut radishes into wedges and grate one carrot. Mince one glove of garlic and one teaspoon ginger for the twist! You will need chilli flakes for this one. In a bowl, mix chicken, radishes, carrot, garlic, ginger and chilli flakes along with one teaspoon of dark sesame oil and 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar with sugar. Toss them with black pepper and salt and refrigerate. When you have to serve or eat, add the chopped onion and cucumber cubes. Filling and yummy, that’s what this salad is all about!
Greek Salad
Yes you can make one at home! It is pretty easy to collect all the veggies required for this one. First for the dressing, whisk 6 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of red wine/simple vinegar and half a teaspoon of oregano. Add black pepper and salt to taste. This can be prepared 3 hours in advance. Now take tomatoes, cucumber, onion, bell pepper and olives in a bowl. Cut them into shape of your choice. Toss them with the dressing and sprinkle feta cheese all over it. Enjoy this heavenly bowl on a weekend with some nice music.
Cottage Cheese and Egg Salad
Eggs are so versatile. You can combine them with so many things to create new dishes. But an egg salad? It might sound weird but once you have tasted it, you will be addicted forever! First hard boil or half boil the eggs according to your preference. Cut cottage-cheese (paneer) into long slices and grill them with some chat masala and pepper. Place some fresh lettuce leaves in a plate. Cut the eggs into halves and put them on the lettuce along with grilled paneer slices. Melt 6 tbsps of butter for the dressing and add juice of one lemon into it. Now add some basil and one egg yolk along with one crushed garlic clove. Season it with salt and chat masala. Add the dressing to the plate and relish the amazing taste of paneer and egg in a salad!
