Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates her 32nd birthday today
She made us laugh when she acted as Pooh, cry when she shared the story of Chameli and even gave some life lessons as Geet, clearly Kareena Kapoor Khan has us all under her spell. The Begum of Bollywood turns a year older today but believe us when we say she only seems to get younger! While her acting abilities, her fashion sense and even her unabashed attitude is always touted for, on her birthday we take the liberty to recheck some of her most popular songs in which Bebo has added her own flavor making the video all the more memorable!
Aa Rang De Dupatta Mera
From the movie Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Kareena can be remembered dancing to this catchy number using pastel shades dupattas as props. I have had one too many parties where girls have tried their best to ape Kareena’s moves on this song.
San san na na
For the first time Kareena paired up with Shahrukh Khan playing the love interest of King Ashoka . While this song is melodious and even got singer Alka Yagnik quite a few nominations, I believe it is Kareena’s raw sex appeal that makes it worth a watch.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham
This movie sort of established Kareena in the fluff roles like Pooh which she seems to do perfectly. Admittedly I loved her over-the-top acting as Pooh and enjoyed not one but two songs of this movie. First being Bole Chudiyan in which she totally rocked it, making it the official sangeet song to dance on! My second choice for obvious reasons is ‘You’re my Soniya’. How can anyone forget Hrithik and her sizzling chemistry in this one!
Oh my Darling I Love You
Once again the crackling duo of Hrithik and Kareena paired up for Mujhse Dosti Karoge and this particular song has the God of Dancing Hrithik in his full element. My most favorite dialogue of Kareena in this movie is undoubtedly the one she tells Hrithik, “Aey Mr. America!” No one can do it better than her!
Bhaage Re Mann Kahi
After doing so many fluff roles Kareena got the opportunity to showcase her talent in Chameli for which she even received critical acclaim in several award shows. This particular song was done brilliantly by the actress, lighting up the frame with her natural screen presence.
Anjana Anjani
While the movie did no wonders for Kareena, the two songs, Fanaa and Anjana Anjani, featuring her are worth watching. While Fanaa has a lot of Vivek Oberoi’s element in it, Anjani Anjani is totally taken over by Kareena. Check it out!
Jab Nahi Aaye The Tum
Another brilliant piece of acting by Kareena in the movie Dev for which she even won the critics award for Best Actress. I have especially chosen this song from the movie as it been sung by our very own Bebo. A really good attempt, indeed.
O Saathi Re
In the Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello (Omkara), Kareena plays the role of Desdemona and does full justice to it. This song sets the tone of the movie, showing the love story between Othello and Desdemona. This one’s a must watch!
Yeh Mera Dil
The original song had veteran actress Bindu shaking her hips but have to say in the remake Kareena stood at par. While many other actresses could have performed this feat, but Kareena seemed like the right choice to dance on this popular song.
It’s Rocking
She did a cameo with this song in the movie Kya Love Story Hai and turned this into a peppy number with her zany attitude
Yeh Ishq Haai
Then came Kareena’s best performance till date; Geet in Jab We Met. With her flawless acting, adorable charm and that uber confidence, Kareena was a enigma in this role! Wondering why Mauja hi Mauja isn’t listed? Well, while that song had Shahid rocking it with his moves in this song Kareena can be seen in her element, totally enjoying the song making you want to join her. Watch it now!
Chaliya Chaliya
After being this chubby, cute girl Kareena went on a complete a transformation and turned size zero for her role in Tashan making girls green with envy. In the song her size zero figure is in complete focus and looks like she loved that phase! Which Kareena do you prefer extra thin or something like she was in Jab We Met?
Marjaani Marjaani
Once again she paired up with SRK this time a special appearance in Billu for the song Marjaani. This one’s only for SRK-Bebo fans!
Bebo main Bebo
Now how many actresses have a song on their name? I can’t think of any! This one’s for the birthday girl!
Zoobi Doobi
The movie created box office records and Kareena proved it that she definitely can set the numbers soaring higher working with the Khans. In this song, Kareena does some mean filmy moves and overall Aamir and she make a cute pair.
Bodyguard – Desi Beats
With Salman Khan too Kareena sizzled on-screen and while the title song had many versions, one even including Katrina Kaif, I like the one with Kareena and Salman dancing on some classic Punjabi beats
Chammak Challo
This song had many factors to it, on top being Akon singing it. But let’s not forget Kareena doing some beautiful classical moves in that red saree. Ah, so now we have your attention!
Dil Mera Muft Ka
For the first time Kareena attempted to do mujra and while her efforts were strictly okay I like the fact that not even once did she leave her character and in fact added her own charm to this dancing style
Halkat Jawani
Ah, finally comes the phase of item dancer Kareena. Her dance in this song made us all go Halkat when played in parties. Oh, just admit it!
Muskaane Jhooti Hai
Once again Kareena tried to do something different with this song and must say this ‘club singer/dancer’ thing suits her.
Fevicol Se
Truly Kareena had our eyes glued to the screen when she danced with Dabangg Khan in this special item number. Kareena insisted to be a part of this song admits her favorite line is, “Main toh Tandoori murgi hoon yaar, ghat ka le saiyaan alcohol se!”
