The trends currently show that BJP is leading in Haryana and Maharashtra
The counting has started in Haryana and Maharashtra and the results will be out by the evening. But the Bhartiya Janata Party has already taken a good lead in both the states.
The trends currently show that BJP is leading in Haryana on 46 seats, while INLD is leading on 17, Congress 11, HJCBL two, and others on one. In Maharashtra, BJP is leading with 77 seats, while the Shiv Sena and NCP have acquired 43 and 29 seats respectively.
In Haryana, it seems to be an easy and clear win for BJP but Maharshtra may come a tad tough for it.
The four cornered fight in Maharashtra was bound to make it difficult. However, the BJP has clearly succeeded in showing Shiv Sena that it is capable of doing things on its own and it is no second fiddle material.
With Shiv Sena reportedly cosying up to BJP right after elections, one cannot deny the possibility of a post poll alliance working in place. However, going with NCP is a strict no for the party.
Currently, the Congress and NCP must be feeling terrible for breaking the alliance and souring the relations.
But the early Diwali celebrations have started at BJP headquarters in Delhi as the arch-rival Congress stares at its worst defeat in the elections.
