Eligibility
The eligibility for a course in Disaster management depends on the type of course you wish to pursue. For example, a Certificate course in Disaster Management with a duration of six months requires the candidate to have passed HSC in any stream. However, a Master’s (MA or M.SC) course in the same requires the candidate to have passed graduation, in any stream. Certificate courses can be pursued even by students who have passed HSC.
Job profile
Disaster management is the process of dealing with natural and manmade catastrophes. The process of being prepared, in order to lessen the effects of tragedies and calamities in private and public concerns is different. While in public sector disaster could mean anything from civil, defence to emergency situation, in the private sector it is referred to as business continuity planning.
Qualifications

Apart from that, you must have the skill to work under pressure, possess a practical knowledge about optimum utilization of resources, planning and managing funds and resources, proper communication skills, the will to take initiative, and inbuilt concern for others.

Ample of employment opportunities exist in this sector, as huge man force is always required to fight sudden situations. You can build a career in emergency services, law enforcement, local authorities, relief agencies, NGOs, and other international agencies. An entry-level candidate earns as much as 10,000 to 15,000 INR per month, whereas a candidate with good experience earns as much as 30,000 to 1, 50,000 INR per month, depending on the organization and type of work they are involved with.
