Job rejection – You got rejected.
Someone else got that job instead of you. You’re probably disheartened as well. But what you are not thinking at the moment is that it would probably have been as tough for the employers to come to a decision. That you would have been neck to neck with the other candidate, yet he turned out to be the winner.
Job rejection – We, think, these could be a few reasons why he bagged it, though you were equally, or even more qualified.
Good sense of humor
I know, this was the most unexpected reason, but yes, your sense of humor matters a lot to your interviewers. After all, who doesn’t want a happy employee. Your capacity to work and your experience are all there on your resume, but what is not mentioned there is your wit or sense of humor. You don’t have to go overboard with this, but yes, a subtle humor always works in your favour.
More involved in your community
The more you know about the trends in your surroundings, the better impact you might leave on the interviewer. So if you haven’t been interested in your surroundings, it’s better if you catch up with things around and go for the interview. This will not only make you more confident but also, make your prospective employer build a positive impression about you.
Knowing about current affairs and pop culture
Staying updated with current affairs may not be an essential part of your previous organization but it may not be the same with your prospective organization. It is important for you to be updated with the last hour news. You never know, what situation might turn up or if your interviewer asked you a simple question from the news that showed up a day before.
Your social media profile
It’s no news that social media playes a vital role in your personal and professional life. You might want to upgrade, change the look and add elements related to your career before you’re ready for the job interview. You never know how big a personality your interviewer could be on social media.
Being perfectly dressed
I don’t think that this needs elaboration. For guys- make sure that creases aren’t visible on your shirt or trousers. Girls, please remember that there is a very thin line between putting a subtle makeup and overdoing it. Do not use bright colors. That could make you look like you’re all ready to attend an Indian wedding.
Job rejection – It is not necessary that you use all of these to your advantage and make them relevant in your upcoming interview. You don’t have to cover all of these qualities compulsarily, but try to get a sense of what your interviewer is looking forward to. Nobody can judge it there better than you. After all, it’s all in the presentation.
