Bizarre: Couples Are Dating, Singles Are Updating!

If you’re in a relationship, you obviously know what we are talking about.

You don’t have the option of ‘updating’ anything, if you and your partner are exclusive. While singles can and will pain the town red with their crushes, dates and ‘experiments’. Wow.

It’s pretty strange that committed couples are feeling stifled, while those who don’t have a companion are having the best time of their lives. Remember how we have been taught that all are ultimately craving for love. Whether it’s virtual or real, love is what makes the world go round (despite it being a cliché). Then why are we so upset about not being able to ‘enjoy’ our lives when we have got the one we really love?

Love is more of an Utopian concept these days than a simple matter of ‘head-over-heels-and-damned-about-it’ feeling. Perhaps that’s why finding love has become so tough and singles are blissfully unaware of the troubles of such misadventures. Thanks to information overload and social networking sites, the joy of anticipation is lost. But these sites are the source of our daily entertainment as those who are looking for casual love and joy scout dating platforms to hook up with like-minded people.

As crazy as it sounds, more and more young adults are calling their relationships off. Not because of the social media influx, but due to the good old problem of ‘communication lag’. We are just not ready to sit down and talk with our partner. We are either too busy running behind something or too bored to discuss our daily lives with them.

In fact, relationships are stifling as they take your freedom away. You can’t do and be the way you want to, you are accountable to somebody. With girls and boys having plenty of options to choose from, relationships going kaput are not even that surprising.

Single, on the other hand, can go out as many people as they want and have all the fun without the tag of ‘relationship’ and ‘commitment’ attached to them.

Right from places to eat to outfits to wear, it’s your call…isn’t that awesome?

You’re the master of your life and choices. You don’t want to compromise on things that you love, just because your partner doesn’t favour them. For those who are independent, being not given what they want is never an option.  And that’s why the perks of being single and flirting is more appealing than committed and screwed.

All said and done, updating will last only for a while, but your partner will be there for life.
