India’s batting hero Sachin Tendulkar is not only idolised by Indians but also worldwide. England batsman Ian Bell who is preparing for yet another test of endurance Down Under they take on Aussies in their own backyard for the forthcoming Ashes series, paid rich tributes to the retiring batting legend.
As quoted in an Australian newspaper, Bell says, “”The mental side of his (Sachin) game was very important. Obviously, when I played against him he had been playing the game at the highest level for 15 years. I grew up idolising him and he was a real hero of mine.”
“I feel very lucky and privileged to have shared the same field as him and played against him. To play against Sachin was incredible. I am not sure there will ever be another Sachin Tendulkar. You knew that wherever you played against him, in England or India, when he came out to bat the whole atmosphere of the ground changed. There’s not many players around the world who can do that.” he adds.
For Bell who was the highest run-getter in the previous Ashes series held in England, scoring 562 runs with 3 tons will need all the inspiration from the Little Master to take down the Aussies!
