After years of being at the bottom of the IPL table, it seems the tide has turned for the Kings XI Punjab this season. With a massive victory over the Chennai Super Kings, Punjab followed that with another marvel show with a seven run win over Rajasthan Royals in a big run chase.
Half-centuries from youngster Sanju Samson (52) and skipper Shane Watson (50) took the Royals to whopping 191 for five in 20 overs. But Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and David Miller had other ideas. The duo put up a stunning display of power-packed batting as Kings XI easily surpassed the target with eight balls to spare. After the Punjab were down and out, Maxwell and Miller went ahead with their attacking style of batting right from the word go.
Indian hopeful Virender Sehwag disappointed again as the former lasted only seven balls for his two runs. In the early stages, put into bat by the Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals posted a huge total thanks to half-centuries from Samson and Watson to reach a competitive 191 for five in 20 overs.
Rajasthan Royals look a bit caught out with the bat and the ball where as the Kings XI Punjab simply look dependable on David Miller and Glenn Maxwell. The Kings, with the form they are in, can be counted as Champion material as the tourney reaches it latter stages.
