Ravindra Jadeja completes 100 wickets in ODI

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reached a personal landmark when the left-arm spinner completed 100 wickets in one-day internationals on Wednesday

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reached a personal landmark when the left-arm spinner completed 100 wickets in one-day internationals on Wednesday as he dismissed two Australian batsmen to complete his century of wickets.

Jadeja proved to be expensive and was sent to the cleaners by Australian captain George Bailey and Shane Watson but ended up grabbing two wickets in the last over of the innings. The Saurashtra-born player made his debut against Sri Lanka at Colombo on February 8, 2009. Jadeja has played 85 ODI games so far with his average being 31.69 and best bowling figures being 5/36 against the West Indies.

Here is a stat that shows the break-up of his wicket haul against each ICC approved nation: 26 vs England, 20 vs Sri Lanka, 16 vs West Indies, 12 vs Australia, 8 vs Zimbabwe, 7 each vs Pakistan and South Africa, 3 vs Bangladesh and 1 vs New Zealand.

In the recent series, the Indian bowling attack including Jadeja has been sent to the cleaners, what with Aussies posting 350 at Nagpur. The left arm spinner’s form with the ball has been satisfactory. In the 5 games played so far against the Aussies, Jadeja has picked up only 6 wickets and has leaked runs with ease. Skipper Dhoni criticised his bowlers for their inept bowling. As the series moves into the final game at Bengaluru, ‘Sir’ Jadeja knows that he must bring back his best to win the series for Team India.
