Pakistan has never won any World Cup match against India. However, they won the World Cup in 1992 so they are not a team to overlook just as yet!
When it comes to the cricketing World Cup, Pakistan have never won a single game against India.
The whole world knows about the riveting rivalry between India and Pakistan in all major sports but when it comes to Cricket, things intensify.
Whenever these countries face each other tension heightens to its peak.
Now with the 2015 World Cup looming over their heads, both teams are prepping up to a solid start. The arch rivals are scheduled to meet each other on 15th February in their Pool B match at the Adelaide Oval.
Pakistan’s senior and most prolific batsman Younis Khan however hopes to end this jinx and hopes to win their first ever World Cup game against India.
These countries are at loggerheads with each other over Pakistan’s world cup losses; India has always outshined them. India defeated the Pakistani team during the 1992 World Cup; however, Pakistan eventually crowned itself the World Champion owing to brilliant play in the field beating England in the final.
The men in blue have always outplayed the men in green in every world cup especially since the 1996 World Cup. They also succeeded in winning over them during the 1999 World Cup, 2003 World Cup and the last World Cup in 2011.
Younis remains hopeful of victory this time shunning away their dismal performance against India in the past. “History is there to be changed and my feeling is this time we can change it and win against India in Adelaide,”
Younis told reporters in Pakistan.Their current squad comprises of some great individual talent with Misbah-ul-Haq heading the men in green. Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal and ShahidAfridi are the promising and experienced performers. Young talent is plenty in the team consisting of Junaid Khan, EhsanAdil and WahabRiaz. Younis feels that if they perform as a team they have every chance to beat India considering the Indian squad is weaker this time compared to previous years owing to inexperienced and young talent being included in the playing XI.
The game, scheduled to be played at the Adelaide Oval, is already sold out.
The match is going to be an exhilarating one and the fight for the win promises to be spectacular.
