Indian cricket team’s batting star Virat Kohli will soon be seen promoting a new brand! No, it’s not a shoe brand again but he will be appointed as the new brand ambassador of the country’s second largest paramilitary force – Border Security Force (BSF).
He has been roped in by the BSF in order to bolster the appeal of the 2.5-lakh personnel strong force, which is primarily tasked to guard two crucial Indian borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The man who has been touted as the next Indian skipper will be honoured at a special event in Delhi. This will be the first time that a central paramilitary force has appointed a brand ambassador and that too a cricketer!
The 25-year-old who made his Test debut for India in a series against the West Indies in 2011 is going strong since then, including playing a pivotal role in India’s World Cup triumph in 2011 and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy title. He is regarded highly by many ex-cricketers and was also praised by India’s iconic batsman, Sachin Tendulkar.
A senior BSF officer said that Kohli’s remarkable achievements on the field and the forces’ indomitable work in ensuring the security of the country will attract the youth.
