Every year, the Indian Premier League sees new faces take the field for their respective franchises. The IPL auction window provides a terrific opportunity for the franchise owners, to buy pool of players that are big names and that can provide value to their teams. Here are a bunch of new faces that will be seen in this season of the Indian Premier League. Take a look
Brendan Taylor (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Besides Tatenda Taibu, no Zimbabwe player has made it big into the Indian Premier League. But here is a chance for current skipper of the Zimbabwe, Brendan Taylor to make a name for himself. Signed for sum of Rs. 30 lakhs, Brendan Taylor will line up alongside the likes of Darren Sammy, Dale Steyn and Shikhar Dhawan.
Beuran Hendricks (Kings XI Punjab)
He may not be a big name in international cricket at the moment but Beuran Hendricks did shine at the recently held T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. The left-armer shone with the ball for South Africa and will look to add more scalps, when he takes the field for the George Bailey-led, Kings XI Punjab.
Corey Anderson (Mumbai Indians)
After a superb outing against the Indian team in New Zealand, Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson knew his price tag will increase in the IPL 7 auctions. Champions Mumbai Indians snapped him up for a fee of Rs 4.5 crore and will have to prove the worth on the cricketing field. With Rohit Sharma leading the line, Anderson’s selection will be quite handy given that he can bowl as well clear the boundary line.
Jimmy Neesham (Delhi Daredevils)
Another Kiwi all-rounder who is set make huge strides in the IPL 7 season, Jimmy Neesham is all set to let the ball do the talking when the Delhi Daredevils take the field. Bought for a fee of Rs. 1 crore, Neesham too had a great outing against the Indians recently. The all-rounder did not have great T20 World Cup but will look to prove the doubters wrong in the IPL under the captaincy of Kevin Pietersen.
The seventh season of the Indian Premier League presents a different opportunity for these new stars to build on to their international T20 careers. IPL does make careers of many and for these bunch, its either ‘make or break’.
