What seemed funny is the fact that beleaguered bowler, Ishant Sharma characterising his own bowling efforts rather than the team’s bowling performance. Credit goes due to the Black Caps who have fought well and in this Test, the batsmen showed valour and courage to battle out of a difficult situation. As far as the Indian bowling tank is concerned, even if a ‘fit’ Zaheer Khan could not be the saving grace as the visitors look to have a say in this Test (atleast). In a report published in the Times of India, it emerged that former Aussie bowler; Glenn Mcgrath is in line to work with the Indian pacers. Ofcourse, Mcgrath who is connected with the MRF Pace Academy which trains many Indian bowlers and the Aussie legend is glad to work with them. McGrath, who represented Australia in 124 Tests, 250 ODIs and 2 T20 internationals was quoted in the paper, “It will be a great opportunity. I would love to work with the young Indian crop.”
Another Aussie who is working with the Indian management, Joe Dawes has proved invaluable (simply going by the performance of the Indian pacers off late).
Why not, give it a go! Mcgrath has been one of the finest bowlers in the world of cricket and his tips to the likes of Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar might come in handy. Just imagine how handy the tips could keeping in mind India’s tours to England and Australia this year.
MS Dhoni is either dozing or his India team are on a vacation rather than a Tour. It’s time the Team woke up from the slumber and especially the bowlers.
