Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is not only India’s icon star but he is internationally recognized as well. Who can forget his appearances at Wimbledon? Ever since his meeting with Swiss ace, Roger Federer at 2012 Wimbledon championships, both the icons have struck quite a camaraderie. The 17- Grand Slam winner is a champion of his game and both the men have commanded respect in their respective fields.
Roger Federer is currently plying his trade at the ATP Finals in London and was quoted in The Times of India, praising the Little Master. He said, “I’ve seen him play, not as much as I would’ve liked, but I’ve watched him on television several times.” He further says, “it is always sad when the curtains come down on a great career. I’m really happy for him that he can go out on his terms, at the time he has chosen, at a venue of his choice. That’s really great. I hope his farewell game is everything he wants it to be. He deserves it. I wish him a great life after cricket. Hope it is as exciting and memorable as his cricket.”
Federer recalled his chat with Tendulkar during the 2012 Wimbledon. He said, “I’m glad I got to meet him, we had tea in the terrace at Wimbledon. I remember the meeting clearly.”
Like Sachin, Federer too has carved a niche in the tennis world and surely demands the same respect when he bows out.
