It seems ‘lady luck’ is not shining brightly on Indian cricket’s run-machine Virat Kohli who has seen a dip in form of late in the England Test series.
Even though there might be some ‘logical’ reasons behind his slump, this revelation could raise some eyebrows alright!
Reports in the media suggested that Virat Kohli has brought in girlfriend Anushka Sharma to be with the former during the series in England. It was also stated that the Indian cricket body, BCCI gave the green light to Kohli to bring the Bollywood actress who were reportedly spotted outside Team India’s hotel in London.
The Indian vice-captain has scored just 34 from four innings against England – his latest being a golden duck at Lord’s. While Anushka is learnt to have taken time out from her hectic schedule to be with the batsman, Kohli’s dip in fortunes have stuck on to the batsman and that too during the the five-Test series against hosts England.
According to a source quoted by UK’s famous tabloid Mirror, “The two have been spending a lot of time together and look really happy in each other’s company,” said the source but the happiness seems to have faded on the cricket field.
Anushka reached London after the first Test at Trent Bridge and was even seen cheering Kohli when he came out to bat on Day 1 at Lord’s. He scored 25. Remember, Yuvraj Singh during that 2006 tour of Australia was dating Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The lassie actress was even in the stands cheering the southpaw but eventually the couple broke after Yuvi’s form dipped.
Well it seems several teams have their wives and girlfriends to accompany footballers especially during the recently-concluded FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Germany’s fourth title win this year at the mega-event is said to be influenced by the presence of players’ wives and girlfriends in the South American nation. Well, Kohli what else do you need?
