MS Dhoni and his merry men are in blistering form at the moment and if they manage to win against the Rajasthan Royals, CSK would go top of the table and overtaking the Kings XI Punjab in the process. Chennai would be gunning for a win but a determined Rajasthan Royals stand in their way as the two sides gear up to clash in an IPL match on Tuesday.
Lying at the third spot are Rajasthan Royals with six wins from nine matches. Shane Watson’s men have had a fine run in the tourney so far and given their form at the moment; both the teams start as equals. Royals’ confidence is sky-high at the moment after scoring an impressive win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore against whom they chased down a massive 191. In Karun Nair has turned out to be a fairly consistent batsman at the top while the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Steven Smith and Sanju Samson have also been coming good. Skipper Shane Watson has to make a big impact in the tournament even though he has been producing fine cameos.
On the other hand, Chennai are not that far behind when it comes to batting with an array of talent in the waiting. Power-hitters like Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Faf du Plessis besides skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni can scare any opposition. All these batsmen have been in fine form and it would take some ‘special’ effort by Rajasthan bowlers to send them packing.
Off-spinning all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains Chennai`s trump card coming into this game. Rajasthan, on the other hand, have the 42-year-old leg-spinner Pravin Tambe to rely on, who has been in sparkling form with hattrick to his name as well against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
