Chennai lost to Punjab by six wickets despite a mammoth 205 on the scoreboard. The two-time IPL champions look weak on the bowling front as Punjab chased down the tough target with ease.
MS Dhoni will have to make changes to his side if they are to score some points. The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have to deliver some wickets, when called on for. On the batting front, by far, CSK have the 2nd best batting line-up in the IPL with the likes of Brendon McCullum, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni in the ranks.
Delhi, on the other hand, finally won a game when they beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in their second match of the IPL. Delhi are without their injured skipper Kevin Pietersen who still looks doubtful for the CSK clash. It might seem, Dinesh Karthik will again deputise for the injured English batsman. The Daredevils’ in-form batsman is JP Duminy who has belted 2 half-centuries so far in the tourney. Besides that, Delhi too has a weak bowling line-up and need to buck up against the formidable Chennai Super Kings.
With both the sides suffering from bowling woes, it could well be a batsmen’s game when the two sides clash on Monday. If Chennai get off to a flyer, don’t be surprised if the former post another 200plus score on the board.
