Here is a preview of one the ‘favourites’ in the CLT20 tournament:
The Chennai Super Kings have qualified for the Champions League. A very strong team that is led by Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the tournament in 2010 and will be looking to regain their lost glory. Here is a preview of one the ‘favourites’ in the CLT20 tournament:
Strengths:
With a team that has a batting prowess of MS Dhoni, Mike Hussey, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo and a superior bowling attack with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Albie Morkel in the teamwhat more could you ask for! Skipper Dhoni has a perfect squad at his disposal and with the kind of form he is in with the bat, the boundaries need to be widened more.
Weakness:
MS Dhoni does not have a strike bowler to turn to. Indian starlet, Mohit Sharma will be playing his first CLT20 and will surely need to calm nerves. The form of Murali Vijay on top of the order will also be a cause of worry. If by any chance, Ashwin or Jadeja do get injured, the skipper will have to turn to part timers – Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis. Where will MS Dhoni fit in the middle order? Also selection headaches will be ringing on Captain Cool and his team management.
Player to watch out for:
Suresh Raina has not been in a good form off late with the bat. A few words from Mahi and the rest would have pepped him up a bit and this could be his tournament to show that he still is one of the finest T20 batsmen ever.
Our verdict:
CSK will have a tough fight on their hands but playing on home soil always excites MS Dhoni and as former Champions, expect them to play as ‘Kings’!
