2011 CLT20 champions face a dilemma with only one defeat and a washout but their skipper Rohit Sharma is still very optimistic about his side’s prospects. After all a win would give them much needed boost and a chance to stay alive. Their next fixture will be against Highveld Lions in their third group ‘A’ league match at Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Friday. An optimistic Rohit Sharma said, “In this format you get only four games and with one lost and other washed out we know the position we are in. We understand what needs to be done. We are raring to go and have to win both of our remaining matches. But we don’t want to take pressure and want to do what needs to be done.”
Mumbai Indians had lost their first game but according to skipper Rohit, their performance was not bad. He says, “Every match is important and so is this one. We have the players and I don’t think our performance in against Rajasthan Royals was bad. It was just a matter of few more runs. Had we made 15-20 more the story of that match could have been different.”
The MI squad has loads of talented players and especially when you have the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, though he is going to retire after this tournament. Rohit does miss the services of Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga but hr would he want Mitchell Johnson to fire all cylinders.
