One of the most interesting and much awaited events of the year is the Filmfare awards. Apart from actresses and actors being praised for their films the previous year, it’s the night to see which actress looked the most gorgeous on the red carpet. Were the leading ladies competing not only for the black lady, but also for the best dressed award? You bet they were! We take a look at five of the best dressed ladies at Filmfare Awards 2014. Take a look:
Deepika Padukone:
The current number one in Bollywood not only lapped up all the awards this year, but also rocked her sheer gold gown like a diva. While it could have looked risqué on a lot of people, it looked spectacular on the leggy lass. The gold Gaurav Gupta gown was offset by her dark lips, side-swept hair matching shoes. While Victoria Harvey couldn’t pull the same dress (albeit in a different colour) off at the Golden Globes, our babe got every element right. What’s not to love!
Priyanka Chopra:
The hostess for the evening was a vision in black as she kept the guests and viewers entertained throughout the night. Her simple, yet stylish Alexander McQueen gown was perfectly flattering her figure. What earned more points from us is her faux bob and her pair of Atelier Mon earrings. The dark ensemble could have totally washed her out, but her blingy earrings gold panelling on her gown made her a hit on the red carpet!
Vaani Kapoor:
The newbie who bagged away with the Best Debut (female) Award was quite a hit on the red carpet too. The bare Nikhil Thampi gown looked stunning on her figure. We especially love the yummy colour on her. It brings out her curves like no other. An updo and long earrings finished off her look. We are waiting to see what else the lady has up her sleeves when it comes to fashion!
Karisma Kapoor:
The heartthrob of the 90s may not be doing any films now, but she sure knows how to rock the red carpet. Because only the former number one could have carried this look off. The Anamika Khanna coutre was rather heavy, but Ms Kapoor managed to look smashing in it. Pulled back hair, matching clutch and nude lips rounded it off. We do feel the make-up was a tad heavy, but not a deal breaker for us. What about you?
Konkona Sen Sharma:
We were growing rather tired of her saree spotting and are glad that she picked this gorgeous Rohit Bal anarakali. The warm tones of the anarkali perfectly complement her skin. A tiny bindi, gold and pearl jhumkas and a cream potli were her accessories for the evening. She looked stunning. It made for a refreshing change from her usual avatars and we are hoping that she continues this good run!
