Maruti Suzuki plans to remove its non-performing SX4 model and introduce a new model – the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (pronounced as Chi-aaz). Code named YL1, the car will hit the Indian roads between July and September this year, just before the festive season.
After getting a great response at the Indian Auto Expo, the car will now compete with the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, and more. Maruti has done away with the main drawbacks of the SX4 and the all-new Maruti Ciaz will flaunt many enhanced features with two (or three) engine options.
Design, Built, Exteriors & Interiors:
Based on the ‘Suzuki Authentics Concept’, the Ciaz dons an elegant and contemporary look. The car is longer than the SX4 and measures 4545mm in length, 1475mm in height, & 1730mm in width. The extra space for the user’s convenience is an added advantage. Equipped with a huge wheelbase of 2650mm, the car guarantees a good ground clearance too.
Some of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz features include a wide chrome grille, turn indicator, extensive projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and more.
Available in six variants – LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi and ZDi, this much-awaited product from the house of Maruti Suzuki looks promising. The top variants of the car boast of some more enticing features, including automatic climate control, ABS+EBD, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, sunglasses holder, stereo system with USB & Bluetooth, twin airbags, and more.
The rear of the car also has an imposing appearance with LED lights, exhaust console equipped rear bumper, and more. Overall, the look of the car is appealing and it scores high points in this segment.

Engine & Performance:
We expect Maruti to power the Ciaz with a 1.4-litre K-series petrol giving a mileage of 17 to 18 Kmpl and a 1.3-litre multi jet diesel mill producing 21 to 23 Kmpl of mileage. The company may also get a 1.6-litre multi jet diesel engine for its high-end diesel variant.

The expected Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Price is Rs. 7 Lakhs to Rs. 11 Lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki has rectified all the blunders it made with the SX4 and has now brought a model which has good looks, comfortable interiors, more space, a powerful engine, and a justified price tag.
