The Ford Figo Compact Sedan will hit the Indian roads early next year. With its sleek exteriors and powerful engine, the car promises to fulfill the expectations of all the Ford fanatics.
The Ford Figo Compact Sedan, unleashed at the Delhi Auto Expo this year, sported a breathtaking look which left the audience mesmerized. Expected to reach the Indian Ford aficionados by early 2015, this product marks the debut of Ford into the sub-4-meter segment. According to the market buzz, the Sanand manufacturing unit in Gujarat would produce these cars, which may replace the Ford Fiesta Class series.
This stylish sedan aims to contend with the existing top players of the compact sedan segment, including Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Hyundai, and Tata Motors. Built on the B2E platform, similar to that of the Ford EcoSport Compact SUV, this car dons a new design with trendy elements.
Design, Built & Exteriors:
With oodles of style, the car flaunts a trapezoidal radiator grille, set of 8-spoke alloy wheels, blacked out headlamps, chic headlight cluster, and more. The rear, inspired by the existing Ford Fiesta sedan design, looks equally beguiling and pumps up the aggressive charm of the car. The other Ford Figo Sedan Features include indicator integrated ORVM covers, boomerang-shaped rear-taillight design, power adjustable external wing mirrors, large doors with a huge glass-area, shark-fin radio antenna, and more. However, the final version may differ from this concept version.
Interiors:
The car showcased at the Delhi Expo was a concept model; hence, there is not much information of the Ford Figo Sedan interiors. However, the Ford Figo Sedan Exteriors predict spacious interiors for the comfort of its users. We expect the car to come with a decent stowage space, novel device dock, charging points & Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones, MP3 player, satellite navigation systems, climate control air conditioning unit with heater, air bags, anti lock braking system, and more.
Engine & Performance:
We foresee the Ford Figo Compact Sedan to come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, another 1.5-litre petrol engine, and a 1.0-litre EcoBoost mill. Ford may also power this car with a 1.5-litre DV5 turbo diesel engine. However, there is not much information available on this front and the prospective buyers would have to wait for a few months to get the exact specifications of this car.
Price:
The Ford Figo Sedan Price would range between Rs. 5.50 Lakhs to Rs. 7.50 Lakhs.
We anticipate the car to fulfill the two major requirements of the Indian car buyers – fuel efficiency and low cost-of-ownership. However, it is difficult to envisage the fate of this car with the limited information provided by the company.
