Movies and cars have come a long way.
Almost every movie would use a car at least once. Some films have their stories revolving around cars while others are synonymous with the use of flashy cars.
And trust me on this; some of them seem not possible without cars.
There are many movie freaks, who watch movies just to get a glimpse of their favorite cars on-screen. For all such ‘gearheads’ and movie addicts we bring a list of 7 movies from Hollywood & Bollywood which had a generous display and use of cars.
1). Skyfall:
Cars are an inseparable part of all James Bond movies and they are incomplete without car chases. Daniel Craigin Skyfall (2012) drove an Aston Martin DB5, the same car that Sean Connery drove in Goldfinger (1964).
2). Singham Returns:
Cars and more cars was what the audience expected from the recently released Rohit Shetty film, Singham Returns(2014). Undoubtedly, the viewers got to see what they anticipated. Apart from other brands, the dominance was of cars from Tata Motors, such as Sumo, Aria, Safari Storme, Sumo Grande, Xenon and Nano.
3). Fast and Furious 6:
Fast and Furious 6 (2013) was a treat for car fanatics. The movie showcased almost 25 exotic cars, including the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, 1971 Jensen Interceptor, 2002 Land-Rover Range Rover, 2010 BMW M5 E60, 2012 Lucra LC470, and more.
4). Dil Chahta Hai:
The blockbuster movie Dil Chahta Hai (2001) had 3 friends going on a holiday to Goa by road in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL convertible. The car features in the title track of the movie too.
5). Tarzan-the Wonder Car:
Though this movie did not do well at the box-office, but the car did grab eyeballs. Dilip Chhabria, well-know car customizer, received acclaim for his skills for remodeling a Toyota MR2.
6). Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction:
The followers of this movie were aware of what to look forward to from this film. There was an extravagant use of vehicles, including some of the most incredible ones, including the 2013 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, Oshkosh Defense Medium Tactical Vehicle, 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, 2014 Freightliner Argosy, and more.
7). Three Idiots:
This super hit picture of 2009 had a major role of a red colored Volvo XC90 towards the climax. Actors Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Omi Vaidya, hunt for Aamir Khan in this car.
These are just a few movies to name. There are buckets full of such flicks which have used various classic, antique, expensive, and exotic cars. This trend would continue till time movies are made and being watched.
