Don’t you sit in a luxury car and feel that the world should never end? We have drummed up a list of premier cars launching this year, right from sedans to hatchbacks to hardcore SUVs. Take a look.
BMW 1 Series: The German luxury carmaker is soon launching its much hyped ‘BMW 1 Series’ – the first premium hatchback from BMW. The brand has strategically set the launch in order to compete with Mercedes A Class. The car looks sexy and will be extremely appealing to the youth. The compact size of the car will be a boon for city traffic. The car will be assembled locally, thus helping us in the tax category, too. The design looks very much like the BMW X1 Series but with a lesser ground clearance and different tail lights. It is expected to be priced between Rs 20-25 lakhs. We will get to know the exact specs and engine only after its official launch in India.
Mercedes S-Class W222: The top-notch luxury sedan – S Class – will launch soon in India. Due to the bad condition of our roads, special tests have be considered before the launch and Mercedes prides itself in delivering country-specific cars for better user satisfaction. Its competitors are the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series, which are market leaders currently. Will this launch increase its sales in the high-end luxury market? Engines expected would be V6, V8 and V12 for all types of driving experience. The S-class will be assembled in Chakan Plant in Pune and hopefully will keep the prices lower than the competitors.
Volvo XC30: The entry level baby SUV, it directly competes with the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3. It will boast of a 2.4 ltr engine, which will churn out 185bhp power. The SUV already compromises on the safety of a Volvo car and we hope that this baby SUV will play an important role in pushing the sales of Volvo.
Audi A3: Yet another German car manufacturer is queuing up with sexy Audi A3 Sedan. The car will be shorter than the A4 and will be in the shape of a Sportsback. This stunning sedan will be competing with BMW 1 Series and the Mercedes A Class in India. It will be an entry level one in the Indian market.
Jeep: The American mean machine, Jeep is entering the Indian market with its two hardcore cars – Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler – that are especially made for rough terrains. They have the capacity to tackle all the potholes and rough patches of Mumbai effortlessly. Both the cars will be powered by a turbo-charged engine that will be 3.0 and 2.5-ltr, respectively. The Cherokee will churn out 237bhp and 550Nm of peak torque, while the Wrangler is capable of 200bhp and 460Nm of torque. This brand will be distributed by Fiat under its flagship showrooms in India. As soon as the manufacturing starts, the prices will automatically fall, making it easier for the adventure-freaks to take home this majestic vehicle.
