With the launch of the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Sedan, the German car manufacturer introduced its first hybrid sedan in India. With many groundbreaking features, the car is certainly impressive.
BMW launched the all-new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Sedan yesterday, the 23rd of July 2014.
The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Sedan price is Rs. 1.35 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi), and the coupe will initially be sold in the three metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.
At the launch of the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Sedan, the BMW Group India President Philipp Von Sahr said, “The all new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 introduces a fundamentally new driving experience in the luxury segment that India has never seen before.”
The Overall Built:
The vehicle is a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and BMW’s first hybrid sedan in India. The exteriors are enticing, something that is not new for cars produced by BMW.
The Engine and Battery:
The highlight of this car is its 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, in-line engine, mustering 320bhp and 450Nm of torque. Mated with an electric motor that yields 55bhp and 210Nm of torque, the twin-turbocharged mill is extremely energy-efficient.
Equipped with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, the car accelerates from 0-100Km/h in just 6.2 seconds and boasts of an electronically limited top-speed of 250Km/h. Supported by a lithium-ion high-performance battery that recharges itself, when one lifts off or applies the brake, the car is undoubtedly an energy-saving vehicle.
The Interiors:
BMW has festooned the four-wheeler with amazing luxury features, including massage functions in the rear seat, folding tables incorporated at the back of the front seats for use by the passengers sitting at the rear, and more.

The Future Plans of BMW:
The giant automobile manufacturer has aggressive plans of expansion. It looks forward to launching 4 new models in 2014 in India – the M3 sedan, M4 Coupe, M5 sedan, and the i8. The company also proposes to increase its outlets to 50 very soon.
