The day she realized about her gender?
Like any other kid, she was leading a life as a normal child. But soon she realized that there’s no such physical change happening in his body like the other boys. She never thought his life will come crashing down. She consulted a family doctor and came to know “He was born intersex with no reproductive system”. Being afraid she never uttered a word to reveal her real identity.
Marriage
Well, she was born in an Orthodox family. And, at a very tender age, her marriage was fixed right when she started taking steps. In simple words she was forced into the old tradition of marriage without uttering a word.
Her life took a turn to worst when she got married at age 22 as planned by his parents. Every day she felt like a woman trapped inside a man’s body.
Breaking the silence
Being irritated and guilty, he took the decision and revealed her real identity. Everything turned out to be hard and broken in her life as the time was much traumatized. She ran away into a place and found people who were just like her and got a new family and life.
With all fellow mates, she started performing “Baddhais” at weddings and during the arrival of a new child. This made her happy and she was finally enjoying freedom and hijrahood.
The Knock on the door
One morning the estranged wife with her son visited her. She revealed how the man she married was alcoholic and used to beat her up. She felt bad for her estranged spouse and gave her a place to live and also took care of her son by providing 20,000 every month for household.
She provided money to her son’s education and today he is an MBA graduate. He even got him married to the love of his life.
The Message in his own words
“I couldn’t become the best son to my father, and best husband to my wife, but I am sure that I’m the best father to my son. Although I couldn’t father a child due to my intersex but life gave me another chance to become a father by bringing my wife and her child back into my life”.
No one helped her but she did. She stood up for help even though she was ostracized by the very society. But she proved how race, gender, color can only divide people and humanity is what we should all follow.
