The company, which has India operations in Hyderabad and Bangalore, also plans to continue hiring at same rate next year mainly in core engineering and customers support.
Alan Trefler, founder and CEO, Pegasystems told reporters that in the last 14 months in India, Pegasystems hired between 500 to 800 staff. The Indian headcount will be at 900 by the end of December 2013, out of which 600 will be in Hyderabad and 300 in Bangalore.
“India is a terrific place for talent and we believe strong engineering foundation is central to our business. Hence our focus is to build the engineering foundation in India,” Alan said.
He said Pegasystems was not actively looking at sales in India as of now but can consider it in next one to two years. According to him, BSFI and manufacturing would be of interest to the company in India.

Pegasystems, a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and mobile application development platform (MADP) solutions, held developers conference Sunday and Monday to meet the significant demand for knowledge sharing from the growing community of Pega designers and developers in India.
The event brought together delegates from some of the world’s largest organizations.
Globally Pegasystems has a headcount of 2,650. It has presence in 22 countries.
