The actor who’s generally quite cool headed got into a tu tu mein mein with Irrfan Khan recently. At an award function in which Irrfan and Anupam’s movies were nominated, Kher was requested to say a few words. Anupam decided to take the diplomatic route and that dear friends, didn’t go down too well with Mr Khan. The Saaransh actor simply said that he will just talk about his own film Special 26. To this highly politically correct statement, Irrfan shot back by saying that cinema is not just about applauding one’s own self. Kher obviously didn’t take that lying down. He decided to have the last word by saying that he has high regard for everybody who’s nominated in any award function.
Anupam and Irrfan hugged it out and didn’t drag the argument any further.
Adding to Mr Kher’s woes, at another event TV actor Karanvir Bohra got the actor’s name wrong while hosting an award function. Since Karanvir is new to the job of anchoring, he fumbled and stuttered quite a bit, making an absolute mess. This obviously didn’t go unnoticed by Kher. He made sure to give Karanvir the much needed gyaan by saying that if next time he makes a mistake, he should own up rather than covering it up.
Phew! Wonder who’s next in line to ruffle the senior actor’s feathers…
