Raees, to be directed by Rahul Dholakia is a project that celebs aren’t showing too much interest in. And that’s super shocking because the lead is played by none other than Shahrukh Khan. Even if SRK does a B-grade film tomorrow, there will be people flocking around to be a part of such an assignment. But I wonder what the deal with Raees is, is it jinxed? Why are people backing out of it…like they are dreading some sort of a monster? The only adorable monster in the movie is SRK, and if industrywallas are to be believed, he’s one of the most cordial and comfortable person to work with.
So the story goes somewhat like this…Sonam Kapoor was the first chick to be roped in for the film. There was a lot of hoo-ha about how Mr Khan and the gorgeous fashionista are paired together for the first time and all that jazz. But all of a sudden, all the noise and hype surrounding the news fizzled out. Ms K is out of the picture or she’s still there in the movie making a teeny-weeny appearance, no one has bothered to give a statement about the developments till now.
Then arrived Farhan Akhtar, and trailed behind him a series of spicy stories stating that the SRK-Akhtar duo will create ‘dhamaal’ together. Shahrukh as the bootlegger and Farhan as the honest cop – this was one pairing that screamed ‘interesting’ right since the start. But after all that brouhaha, the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag dude dropped the bomb by saying that he has no time for Raees anymore. He bid adios to the project in his own nonchalant style.
After Akhtar’s exit, entered Katrina Kaif. It was reported that the babe has been finalised as the main female lead of the movie. Fans were excited to see Kat doing a movie again with Mr Khan after Jab Tak Hai Jaan. But no points for guessing, even she sashayed out of the film, claiming that she never gave her nod in the first place.
Is something wrong with script, or people are for some reason reluctant to work with SRK? Well, we can speculate all day on this. But I guess it would be better if we waited a little more for some concrete development to take place…what do you think readers?
