The news is that Sonam – the ultimate fashionsita of B-town has been roped in by Arbaaz Khan for his next film Dolly ki doli. The babe will be seen playing an out-and-out Punjabi chick in the film. Now when you say Punjabi chick from Delhi or somewhere from the North, the two babes who come to my mind and can do absolute justice to a role like this are Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra. Both of them have proved that they can step into the shoes of a fiery Delhi chick and make it look 100% realistic.
But despite the obvious choices, Arbaaz has gone ahead and opted for Sonam as the protagonist of the film. He also said in a recent interview that he doesn’t see anybody other than the Kapoor kid fitting into this role. I wonder what has Sonam done to impress Mr Khan here…In her last film Raanjhanaa, she was highly okay; Dhanush overshadowed her completely with his supreme thespian skills. So what’s exactly Arbaaz impressed about?
Sonam has her plate full with projects. She will also be seen in the remake of Khoobsurat. It seems she will be playing a very bold and straightforward gal in the film, now that shouldn’t be difficult as the babe is pretty much like that in real life as well. I wonder how she will pull off the character of a North Indian gal though, without making a boo-boo, now that I am waiting to watch…
