Then comes the importance of titles in B-town flicks! One often wonders if making a title is as important as making the cast list. The answer lies in the affirmative! Here is a sneak peek into the wackiest titles that Bollywood blessed audiences with, over the years–
Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai:-
A classic movie that is well known for its representation of a worker’s angst, it gained recognition for its lead characters as well as for its title. With Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi gracing its cast list, its hit meter was anticipated to be on a high since it released in 1980.
Shin Shinaki Boobla Boo:–
Tongue twisting title yes, this flick is not part of obliviated records only for its name. The flick left behind no memories of its cast or plot on us, except this title. It was a mature subject for the 50’s yes, but failed to garner attention for any of its bits.
Shahrukh Bola “Khoobsurat Hai Tu”:-
The funny bone in the nomenclature is perhaps the only reason why the film has not fallen into the abyss of obscurity. However, the trivia here is that Shah Rukh Khan was seen in an itsy bitsy cameo in the flick. One still wonder what got him to agree to this but yes, he perhaps needed to associate himself with loser choices to get a feel! Phew!
Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli:–
The flick from 1971 had Sandhya and Abhijeet in lead roles. While there had been no noticeable things to take back from the movie, it made a mark for being the first movie in Bollywood to use stereophonic sound. We guess the title is still the best thing to remember here.
Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi:–
The best of the lot, this is one upcoming flick that will see a rom com clubbed with sexism galore! From the Ekta Kapoor stable, the flick is expected to continue the saga of Kya Kool Hai Hum in full swing. Even before its release, it has seen cases and PILs slapped on it for plausible offence that the word jhand causes. The trivia here is that the title was chosen after a survey around the colleges in Delhi. So Jhand is the way the youth speaks today, said the paramount authority presiding on the issue, and causes no offence!
Perhaps, the palette for humor is full today.
