The list is endless! Yes, we are talking about the most beautiful and one of the most talented actress Hindi cinema has ever produced: Rekha!
In past couple of days she graced our homes via the idiot box appearing on different platforms to promote her upcoming movie, Super Nani and mesmerized us with her near-perfect beauty.
No other actress of her era or any era has captivated the world like she does.
When a diva like her talks, the world listens!
We all listen to her said-unsaid words; try to find meaning in every graceful movement of hers, even if it’s as normal as fluttering of her eyes. So, when she gives some subtle hints about the state of her beautiful heart, even if those are subtle enough to be missed by some of the less observant, our heart goes out to her!
It was a routine film-promotion on Bigg Boss 8 when she gave ample clues in front of Salman Khan as well as the house contestants about her deep and undying love for Amitabh Bachchan! No, she didn’t take his name, but then who said that one has to bring the name of one’s beloved on their lips to profess love! Whether it was talking about her marriage with Salman Khan, giving a royal snub and not-so-good a smile to Puneet Issar inside the Bigg Boss house, or taking a meaningful and pondering pause at “Khuda Gawaah”, the words she inadvertently uttered while talking to the contestants (which happens to be Big B’s acclaimed movie), it made it all evident that despite all these years, Rekha’s love for Big B is intact and still going strong. Puneet received this cold treatment from her for the simple reason that he was responsible for Amitabh Bachchan’s near death condition in the days when they were shooting for Coolie.
She even said in a good-humored tone, while enacting a dialogue for Salman Khan from his movie Dabang “Mujhe sirf Big B se darr lagta hai”, and chuckled playfully.
Well, so much for said, unsaid love, but we all know that Big B and Rekha were linked together during the filming of Silsila more than 30 years ago, but the flames died down, at least in public eye, as soon as they were lighted. It seems, in private the flames were always raging on and were kept alive by two beautiful hearts fully in love, but never ready for a public acknowledgment. Rekha has had her share of marriage and divorce and marital discords, but she handled it all with great dignity. The same dignity was visible in full throttle in her recent public appearances on TV not only on Bigg Boss, but also on Comedy Nights with Kapil!
Singing the songs on Kapil’s show which were shot on her and Amitabh Bachchan was again a subtle indication that she hasn’t forgotten her love and is a devoted lover despite knowing that the two can’t ever be together!
She has clearly projected herself as the epitome of love and the respect we have for her grows manifold, each day. Question to Mr. Bachchan: Will you ever acknowledge her love, even if in a subtle indirect manner?
Love deserves that, if nothing more!
