While the confab must have surely turned out to be intellectually stimulating, the fashion sense kinda took me aback. Deepika Padukone, known for her impeccable style sense, suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while hugging Big B. She had worn a pretty red jacket, but it didn’t look like a pretty sight anymore, when the fabric ripped right in front of the paparazzi. While this was just an accident and it’s only natural for such disasters to take place, we wonder what was Ranveer’s excuse. It was unfortunate what happened with Ms Padukone, but looks like Ranveer wore that ensemble just to invite truckloads of criticism.
While Singh has been complementing Deepika’s hatke style sense in almost every event, this time around he failed to match steps with the leggy lass. Padukone takes the cake, despite the ‘tearing tragedy’. Ranveer appeared in this printed ensemble which was somehow way too overwhelming. I love the fact that Singh experiments with his statements, and he surprises with his funky choices every now and then. But this is simply a case of a ‘bold experiment gone horribly wrong’. The abstract print makes him look like a clown. He could have either worn a monochrome jacket with those printed pants or plain trousers with that blazer.
I still remember Singh’s first appearance on The Front Row, when he had come to promote Lootera. He had opted for a smart Ermenegildo Zegna suit and teamed it with Kolhapuri chappals. Now that was something, it was casual and classy at the same time. Too bad, RS lowered the style bar this time instead of raising it…
