After repeated requests by Rabia Khan, the Mumbai police will finally be conducting a re- investigation.
There’s a whole new twist to the Jiah Khan suicide case. After repeated requests by Rabia Khan, the Mumbai police will finally be conducting a re-investigation. The forensic report states that a fragment of human flesh was found under Jiah’s nails and blood stains were spotted on her undergarments. Rabia Khan said that if needed the cops can exhume Jiah’s body just so that they can re-examine it again.
Vishwas Nangre, the additional commissioner of police, in a recent interview said that they will be having a look at the CCTV footage and whatever evidence they can catch hold of and only after a thorough examination they will decide if her body needs to be exhumed.
Jiah Khan was found hanging in her room on June 3. After the incident, the cops took Rabia’s statement but didn’t exactly go further with the investigation. Suraj Pancholi was arrested for abetting Khan’s suicide on June 10 and was granted bail on July 1. The case has been taking a new turn every now and then. Suraj and his dad Aditya Pancholi had also claimed that the handwriting on the suicide note didn’t match Jiah’s actual handwriting and that they have sent the letters to a professional handwriting analysis expert.
Meanwhile Rabia Khan, not satisfied with the investigation of the Mumbai police, has been seeking second opinion from Dr RK Sharma, former head of the department of forensicmedicine and toxicology at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). He has pointed several loopholes in the case and stated that Jiah may have been murdered.
The Khan family is appalled by the sluggish approach to the case and is waiting for the cops to come up with some substantial results.
