Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bejoy Nambiar looks like a fun flick. The protagonist Kuku has this innocent quality about him, who finds himself landing in the soup every now and then. He is this doormat friend who people use unabashedly. The guy who plays Kuku looks promising. Also seen in the movie is Siddharth Bhardwaj, the dude who appeared in MTV’s Splitsvilla.
While critics are drawing comparisons with Fukrey already, I feel there’s something very different about the movie. Even though a lot of directors these days are cashing in on the ‘creating a typical Delhi feel’ formula in their films, this looks like it’s going to have some substance despite the North Indian flavour it’s garnished with.
The turning point in the promo arrives when Kuku starts his own restaurant and gives it a goofy name – ‘Kwality Khana’. Kuku, the pipsqueak suddenly transforms into Kuku, the astute entrepreneur. It’s difficult to gauge what the film is all about, and that’s pretty much the exciting part. It is not predictable, which is sure to intrigue movie goers and draw them to the nearest theatre screens.
The movie stars a bunch of talented young kids. The promo starts with a funky background score. The ‘mata ki jagran’ scene is hilarious to the hilt. Very young and fresh, I get positive vibes from this movie. It does not lay the foundation of a crappy love story nor does it take the support of mindless action scenes. There’s a slice of life quality about this one and an icing on the cake is that it’s amusing at the same time.
Desperately awaiting this one to hit the screens, you let us know what you think about the promo!
