Here we talk about Riteish Deshmukh grabbing the role that slipped away from Kapil Sharma’s hands few days back. Riteish has been finalized for Yash Raj Films’ next venture, Bank Chor!
One man’s loss is always another man’s gain!
Exactly this has happened with Riteish Deshmukh.
Few days back, after months of hype, publicity and immense amount of promotions, suddenly ace stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma and Yash Raj Films parted ways. Kapil had signed a three-film deal with the leading production house and Bank Chor was touted to be his launch vehicle.
However, it seems Kapil could not board the vehicle on time due to unknown reasons and Riteish has jumped on board!
You read it right guys, YRF has got their Bank Chor in Riteish Deshmukh and going by their respective statements, it seems both are happy in each other’s company.
Disclosing this exciting news, Riteish said, ‘Loved the script. Loved the character. Loved the team. I’ve always liked to push the envelope with the choices I make. This film allows me to potentially rip it apart. Watch out there’s a new Bank-Chor in town!’. We couldn’t agree more with his thoughts about pushing the envelope. Even though he is known to be a master of comedy, he started his career as a lead romantic hero, did tones of comedy movies and recently tried his hands at a hard-core villainous role in Ek Villain! Not only that, soon he will be seen in a rough and tough action role in his Marathi debut movie, Lai Bhaari!
Any production house will be happy to cast such an actor who can bring this kind of versatility to a project. More so when the project in question is itself a fun-caper! That is why, Ashish Patil, the business and creative head of Youth Films, subsidiary of Yash Raj Films, gave a statement lauding Riteish. He said, ‘Riteish is one of the most exciting actors of today. From villainy to action in his upcoming ‘Lai Bhaari’, there is nothing he can’t do! The plot of the movie is hilarious where three people try to rob a bank but on a worst possible day where everything that can go wrong, goes wrong! Just the thought of Riteish being one of those robbers is hilarious considering he might sleep-walk through such a role. It doesn’t mean it will be too simple but considering his comic timing and ability to portray weird characters on screen with élan, he seems perfect for the job!
The shoot is about to start soon and the film will release in early 2015.
