Now it’s really surprising to hear this from a man whose diction, vocabulary and oratory skills are par excellence. A man who has been raised by a noted Indian poet, a performer who speaks fabulously fluent Hindi and English as if its absolute cakewalk – well, to hear something like this from Mr Bachchan is definitely a tad astonishing.
In fact, if you really ponder over it, you can’t rule out the possibility that Big B might have got a li’l fidgety just at the thought of having all those secrets imprinted in an open book. C’mon not many have the courage to declare the private details of their lives, chronicle bits that people aren’t supposed to know et al.
Big B also said that it would be quite a task to recollect whatever’s happened over the years and write about them. Well, don’t know about that but it would be lovely to read what’s stored in that hell of an ‘intense’ mind.
This whole discussion takes us back to what happened with Om Puri. The actor’s wife Nandita Puri disclosed some scandalising secrets about her husband, without his permission in his autobiography. It was unfortunate as there were certain episodes in the actor’s life which he wished had stayed away from the public glare.
It is incidents like these that make me believe that Big B may have been slightly nervous when it comes to penning his story. ‘Will I reveal too much at the heat of the moment or should I or shouldn’t I mention certain truths’ – these questions must have DEFINITELY hovered in his mind…
