It has been a long wait for Imtiaz Ali fans. He will be seen directing a film after 2 years. Last seen calling the shots for Rockstar, this time around Imtiaz has chosen to tell a very unusual story on the big screen. The promo is super intriguing. Ms Bhatt has been kidnapped by two thugs, of which one of them is the intense Randeep Hooda. AR Rahman’s music and the hatke story of the film make a lethal combo. The way the Student of the year babe starts enjoying the journey of travelling on the dusty roads, in a rickety truck, despite being held hostage, is captured brilliantly.
The idyllic locations of Kashmir and the lush fields of Punjab; the promo offers some great visuals. Call it vicarious thrills or whatever, but seeing the three interestingly etched out characters wandering from place to place, soaking in the sun, creating new adventures for themselves is enough to make you want to desperately watch this film.
Highway releases on February 21, and Bhatt and Hooda, I must confess, are quite an unconventional pairing. Imtiaz had first directed Highway for a TV show called Rishtey which used to be aired on Zee. The idea has been germinating in his mind ever since and he finally bought it on celluloid and made a full-fledged film out of it. Take out time for this one people, it looks promising!
