Alia Bhatt is like a kid in a candy store in the new song titled Patakha guddi from Highway. She is flitting from one place to another, truly in love with nature, making the most of the time she’s being held hostage. Soaking up the sun, getting a feel of the cold tree bark, having the wind tickle her face, Bhatt is seen doing it all in the track.
The song is composed by AR Rahman and sung by the Nooran sisters. The Nooran sisters have performed on MTV Coke Studio and are known for their expertise in singing Sufi songs. And if you have noticed, this track has a nice Sufi touch to it too. The two girls have done a great job of adding a sort of rustic touch to the melody.
Alia Bhatt in a way surprises by appearing in such a not so ‘prim and proper’ avatar. With soot on her face, her hair all unkempt, her character is diametrically opposite to that of the snooty Shanaya in Student of the year.
The movie looks super interesting. This one song is soulful enough to make me wait for the other tracks in the film and the characters seem to be beautifully etched out…Waiting to watch this one.
