Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger Shroff makes his Bollywood debut with Heropanti. Directed by Sabbir Khan, the film is an out-and-out commercial flick. Tiger, who is super flexible and agile, gets to show his hot stunts in the movie. Even though I think he would have had sounded better if he modulated his voice a little, but his dishy demeanour makes up for those tiny flaws.
Jackie Shroff recently said in an interview that he is super nervous as Tiger enters the world of movies. The makers have also incorporated the famous flute tune of the 1983 blockbuster Hero in the movie. Of course, no points for guessing they are trying to cash in on the whole father-son connection.
The new chick Kriti Sanon is highly okay. She has that star like quality but her acting still need a lot of honing and refining. Heropanti gives the feel of a typical masala film. There’s action, drama and romance…you name it and it is there. But the point is what sets it apart from the other cliché crap that Bollywood churns out in great numbers every year? Well, zilch, absolutely nothing, apart from Tiger’s cool presence. There is something about him that makes you look forward to his grand histrionics in the film.
Aamir Khan made an appearance at the trailer launch of the film recently and introduced Tiger to the media. All this while, Jackie was seen clicking photographs of his son, capturing his big moment and getting all excited.
Tiger has that extra edge and from the way he carries himself, it looks like he’s here for the long haul. But I am not quite sure about the film…looks very conventional and blah!
