Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge – All those girls who are still in search of their Raj find it extremely difficult to get out of that fairy tale saga shown in the movie.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge – The 1995 blockbuster film has more to its credits than just a Bollywood movie that entertained the masses. The deep rooted psyche caused after watching this movie is still prevalent in many youths.
Especially all those girls who are still in search of their Raj find it extremely difficult to get out of that fairy tale saga shown in the movie.
The characters of Raj and Simran became popular to an extent that they have become the Romeo and Juliet of Bollywood duniya.
May be it was SRK or Kajol or even the chemistry, something about this film hooked onto several minds and defined love. The idea of falling in love with a stranger is quite exiting and the ideal story shown in this movie has trapped the mind sets of several girls.
Now there are many possibilities wherein the stranger might turn out to be a complete fraud case or worse what if he is a terrorist?
Not against falling in love with a stranger but the opinion I am trying to point here is the complete dependence or the constant comparison with the film world.
Blindly relying on a movie plot and deciding your life partner…how safe is that?
Love is a gamble no doubt.
But the idea of that happy ending is deeply inscribed in our minds. Although Bollywood is the greatest escape for people in this country it is also the inclination towards accepting non-pragmatic structure.
Lot of girls secretly desire or even constantly compare their partners to the character of Raj.
Even SRK has said in many movies that he doesn’t necessarily sing ‘Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam’ for Gauri Khan to express his love to her.
The line that differentiates the real world from the reel world doesn’t seem to exist at all. Even pragmatic people have fallen a prey to the fantasy world of love depicted in this movie.
This film is also criticized by many. But the fans of this film aren’t necessarily stupid and oblivious to the reality.
As it is said something unattainable is more desirable.
Raj may not exist in real life but the character has definitely left some very strong marks in defining the mind-set of the Indian masses and their expectations from a romantic saga.
