The actor, who’s known for his tendency to be unpunctual, raised the hackles of quite a lot of people recently. It seems he was supposed to be present at the launch of a Punjabi film in which he’s playing a special appearance. While the launch was supposed to start as per the time stated to the press, Govinda – the star that he is, entered the venue after a good four hours. It’s a different story that the unit members were extremely patient and entertained the actor in the most courteous way possible. The media was present at the event too, waiting and whiling away a lot of hours. What’s disappointing was that there was absolutely no remorse of guilt on the Hum actor’s face. In fact when asked about the reason for his late entry, he simply stalked off in a huff.
Chi chi is incorrigible when it comes to reaching on time, especially in the mornings. He has a reputation of never reaching the sets before 2 p.m. In fact if sources are to be believed the actor has lost on a lot of meaty assignments because of his unprofessional behaviour.
Case in point: He was roped in for Mani Ratnam’s 2010 flick Raavan but was later shown the exit door as he reached the sets at his usual convenient time especially the day when he had to shoot for a very critical scene. Despite the fact that he apologised Mani, the damage was already done and he was asked to leave.
The actor has quite a lot of movies lined up for this year and next year as well. There’s Banda Yeh Bindaas Hain, Run Bhola Run, Kill Dill, Holiday, Jagga Jasoos, Happy Ending and Abhinay Chakra – now that’s a huge list. We hope the actor tries his best to stick to the timings allotted to him or else we can already see the list shrinking, and we don’t want time hanging heavily on Chi chi’s hands, that would be quite a waste of talent after all…no?
