But have things changed a wee bit after all these years? I guess it has. SRK had recently said in an interview that he loves to work with the younger lot like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. And when he gets older, he will start working with Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit. Now what’s that supposed to mean? Is he trying to say that the Dhak dhak lady, he used to have quite a ‘thing’ for is too old for his taste now. And somewhere in his head, he is still under the impression that he looks as youthful as ever, which is why the 20-somethings complement him more than the 40-somethings. Well, that’s quite modest of you Mr Khan. Mads is still creating a dhamaka on screen with item numbers and powerful performances. If you think she’s too old for you, then it’s your bad. Or he could have chosen a more subtle way and said that he will definitely work with her if a proper script comes up rather than being such an ageist. And the surprising part is that he is older than the Gulaab Gang actor by two years.
Recently even Madhuri was asked if she is going to work with SRK in the near future. Of course she doesn’t have a clue about SRK’s intentions of sharing screen space with only the younger babes. So she simply replied, “Who knows about the future.”
Well, you never know King Khan’s loss might be another actor’s gain. It’s the experienced female actors these days who are taking the risk and are doing some mind blowing cinema. Take English Vinglish for example. I can see a serpentine queue of actors dying to work with them already…excluding a certain Mr Khan of course!
