We often analyze the success ratio of a movie on the basis of actor’s performances but there are a plenty of people who put effort in making a movie successful. Along with the actor, another major role is played by the director who gets much credit for the box office results.

- Rajkumar Hirani
Raju Hirani is one out of the most successful director of the industry. He made his debut in 2003 with the movie ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and since the day he never looked back. Every single movie directed by Hirani become bigger than the last one. He has directed 4 movies till the date and out that 3 movies are blockbuster hits with a great box office collection. He has won a more than 30 awards only for 4 movies.
- Karan Johar
Karan Johar entered the industry as an assistant director of ‘Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and later made his debut as a director in the year 1998 with the movie ‘KuchKuchHota Hai’, which was an enduring movie of Hindi cinema. Johar is not only a director as he has also worked as a producer, scriptwriter, and costume designer. He has given many blockbusters throughout his career such as ‘KabhiKhushiKabhiGham’, ‘KabhiAlvida Na Kehna’ and ‘Student Of The Year’ etc. Karan has sometimes failed to deliver a blockbuster but all his movies were fairly successful.
- Neeraj Pandey
Neeraj Pandey is an acclaimed Indian director. He made his debut with the movie ‘A Wednesday’, the movie was not a blockbuster but was largely praised by audience and critics as well. He has started a new kind of realistic thrillers with the movies like ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’. The collection of his movies was exact opposite then the critical response.
- Ali Abbas Zafar
Ali started his career as a director with romantic comedy ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ in 2011 then he directed an action drama ‘Gunday’. The director has no record of delivering a flop though he hit the league by his first ever blockbuster ‘Sultan’. His initial two movies were moderately successful.
- Rakesh Roshan
Rakesh Roshanwalks on his own path. He debuted as director in 1987 with the movie ‘Khudgarz’. He has directed a total of 13 movies and none out of those were a flop. We can say that Rakesh Roshan is a consistent director with no flop records.
- Ayan Mukherjee
Ayan is one of the youngest directors of Bollywood. He made his directorial debut with ‘Wake Up Sid’. His next release was a romantic comedy ‘YehJawani Hai Deewani’, it ranked among the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. He has directed only two movies till today but still, industry has a great hope with this new aged director.
