The promo of Dedh Ishqiya is as smooth as a piece of good poetry
The music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and the lyrics are by Gulzar – isn’t that a double treat? We are dying to hear what the two luminaries have created together. The background score in the promo has this nice, goofy touch to it; the melody of the violin just adding the right amount of madness to Arshad and Naseer saab’s crazy antics.
So the trailer starts with the two ‘madly in love’ goons having a conversation with each other over a glass of alcohol err..or rather many glasses. The Masoom actor starts explaining Warsi the seven stages of love, in an extremely passionate way. Of course Arshad listens to him with rapt attention. And according to our romance expert, the whole process starts with attraction. What trails behind is uns (attachment), mohobbat(love), akidat (trust), ibadat (worship), junoon (madness) and ends with maut (death). And while talking about the whole ‘love’ deal, how could men being men, leave behind the thought of sex entering their heads. Arshad and his partner in crime have a hearty laugh over their mad conversation.
The way Shah mouths those heavy-duty Urdu words is plain impressive. The two swindlers do such a good job of looking hopeless and hopelessly in love that you don’t feel like giving this movie a miss.
Dedh Ishqiya releases on Jan 10, 2014. We are going to watch this for Mrs Nene’s ‘nazakat’, Warsi’s evil antics, Naseer saab’s powerhouse performance and Huma’s infectious energy.
